January 28, 2002Craig's FAR Update 2002/1/28:
There isn't much more you can say about a day like today. Sunshine combined with ethereal clouds clinging to the mountain tops made for a desperately beautiful day and the over your knees powder was simply luscious. Even where packed the skiing was usually terrific and if you were lucky enough, as we were, to catch the opening of Currie, then words are just not enough.
The White Pass chair has been closed the last couple of days due to some sort of mechanical problems, but with the resolution of those difficulties this afternoon and the subsequent opening of Currie, the whole hill, with the exception of the Face Lift, was once again open.
It was rather chilly today, as decent powder days usually are, but it was not intolerable as long as you were well bundled. At 4:30 it is mainly clear and -14 C at the house.
