Nice Snow, No Me

I did head out this morning and as I waded through the knee deep powder in our driveway, things were looking pretty good. Alas when I got there I discovered that only the Timber, Deer and Elk Chairs were running as the others apparently were kind of frozen up. Needless to say the line ups on the chairs that were running were on the large size and after enduring one ride up Elk, I simply skied down Power Trip and headed home.

The snow I did see was knee deep powder and although not fluff, it was still high quality. I felt no evidence of ice underneath, but I was on a pretty gentle slope.

The original plan was to head back up this afternoon, but while they apparently now have the Boom chair running, it doesn't sound like Bear or White Pass are likely to open. I am sure there is some great skiing up there, but I am jaded enough so that I am not be sufficiently enthused to go fight the hoards in the limited terrain and not so limited lines. Perhaps tomorrow.

At 12:30 it is -10 C and still snowing, but very lightly.

Our car wears a stylish snow chapeau. No hill pictures I am afraid.
